Business Secret #72

World-class researchers and engineers inhabit 500,000 square feet of research-and-development space and service the region’s targeted industries.

Business Retention and Expansion Program

The primary goal of the Business Expansion and Retention Program of the Economic Development Council of Tallahassee and Leon County (EDC) is to retain, protect and nurture local jobs and businesses. The Expansion and Retention Program promotes growth in the area's existing business community by providing a wide range of services necessary to foster job creation and the generation of new capital investment.

In order to better understand the composition of the local industry mix, EDC staff routinely conducts company site visits. In addition, the EDC conducts Business Needs Assessments and facilitates Industry Sector Roundtables to identify issues affecting the business climate or specific companies.

Incentives

To assist existing businesses, the EDC draws from a potent array of state and local economic development programs.
